Is your floor sagging? Do you have a bouncy a floor? Install a granite-topped island in your kitchen? Adding a large bathtub on the second floor? Are you installing a heavy fish tank in your home and concerned you can’t support the weight? There are hundreds of reasons why DIY projects include the need to install additional support for the floor above your basement or crawl space. The Power Post, adjustable crawl space support jack, makes adding floor joist support easy and permanent. With two bottom plate designs, you can install them using a footer. (Check your local building code for specific footer requirements in your area.)
Don’t jack-up your house using a temporary solution! Use the Power Post because doing it right, and meeting building code, is the smart way to go. Made of galvanized steel, this post system will not rust and will not need to be replaced. Each kit comes complete with mounting hardware.
Designed by a team of Structural Engineers to meet/exceed residential building codes the system is simple to install and completely customizable. (This is not a temporary jack.) The tube steel can be field cut to meet your exact needs and the adjustment screw provides a range of 4 inches to fit and adjust your column for the perfect level of support.
Installation is as easy as one, two, three. Step one: drill your footer and mount the base plate using the Trubolt anchor wedges (included). Step two: set it plumb and snug against the beam, attaching the top plate to the wood beam with the provided hardware. Step three: make your final tension adjustments. Done!
For more information see Power Post-installation instructions and Power Post specifications sheet in our DIY Center.
Note: This product is not designed to lift a floor or move a floor section back into place. If your home has years of settling foundation we recommend that you first consult a Structural Engineer who will do a complete inspection and develop a remedy that you can accomplish using Power Posts. This product is not intended to correct a sinking or broken foundation, to stabilize bowing or tilting foundation walls, or to replace the need for foundation piers.
If you have a local source for structural tube steel you can purchase our parts kit by selecting the footer type you will be using and the No Steel Tube option as the Steel Tube Length. You will need to order: ROUND 3″ OD x .120 wall ASTM-A500-B Galvanized. See our DIY Guide: How to Measure for Correct Power Post Height for more information.

Heavy duty product. Worked great for my house settling repair. Saved myself thousands of dollars purchasing this product and installing myself rather that hiring a contractor. Free shipping and great customer service from Crawlspace DIY was a plus.
